Wow time to work on somthing
I've been too busy ether IRL or doing silly things in SL that I haven't been able to build much.. however today I did find some time to work on creating some AVs that where on my todo list. Gon and Killua form the anime HunterXHunter.. they even look right... if you squint from afar.. Killua has an interesting hair style that I have yet to quite properly make in game. Gon (who I was at today's event) came better.. though looking at the face it almost feels like a mix of Gon, and a younger version of my RL self. | | Friday, September 17th, 2004 | | 2:05 pm |
SL Land for sale
So here is the deal, I just got a nice plot of land out of auction, and my land teir is just a hair short.. I also have this small plot I don't use. Thus I want to sell it, and sell it fast :) While I don't care if I loose a little from my initial cost I do want a reasonable price in the current market, thus I'm opening this post for people to make offers, I will stop by sunday morning and set the land for sale to the person with the best offer. The land is 512m^2 in the PG sim of Palimarian: Palomarian (226,56) RULES: *only offer what you are willing to pay *only offer if you can buy it between 9AM and 12PM PST on sunday *offers MUST be in replys to this post EDIT: ..Guess no one is interested .. not even a offer of L$1 :( ... I'll go ask elewhere | | Saturday, September 11th, 2004 | | 5:49 pm |
update
So I now have an ALT account in SL. Meche Quirk.. main reason for the account it to make script testing easier.. many times I need someone other than me but isn't far enough along to want to ask a friend to hang out in game next to me doing nothing while I script. Also today I had an interesting happening at the Burning Life photo contest. Of the contests I've held in the past, some have been successful. others complete flops. However this is the first time that over half of the people arriving at the event left within a min of getting down into the theater. Also I don't know why but every event I hold in the cavern theater it seems to get HARDER to get people down their. (and this is with me sitting on the elevator, asking people to sit, and sending them down stairs for the first 10 mins of the event.) Also annoying that none of my interested friends came :(, some of them have been bugging me to hold another photo contest. lisselivingston did join those that were at the event, thanks for stopping by. I will try to hold another one of these as recommended on Tues., or more likely wen evening (no latter than 8PM PST since I am on the east cost and need to be up early the next morning) also recommended is I remove any ad from the event listing.. since it seems to get absolutely no attention by renters, and little attention and dose seem to make attendance less.. I think I will I've noticed good adverting in game seems to be at a lack.. this has given me some ideas for a project, I've actual started a project on this end.. but need more time to get something out :) Current Mood: confused | | Saturday, August 21st, 2004 | | 6:05 pm |
GOM at Legith Island Lighthouse
So now the little market at Legith's Island Lighthouse has a GOM location at the very least it will make it easier for me to get to from GOM.. exceedingly easy to get :) That and my secondlife photo contests seem to be doing quite well. Now all I could ask for is more venders.. perhaps more prims too.. but I'm sure Lozi will become busier I just hope the mega mall that is going up nearby has an overflow into the lighthouse.. my guess is the competition will ultimately help me. Also I now have SecondLIFE magazine on the other side of the lighthouse Despite my impatience of things not happening instantly, The build seems to be coming along well. I'd appreciate comments, if you care to look goto Lozi (45,133)I'm currently working on my park.. | | Wednesday, August 18th, 2004 | | 11:52 am |
More land
So I now have a nice bit of land in Lozi. This includes the Legith's Island Lighthouse.. a market, and event center. (come see the lighthouse the things to buy.. the empty vender stalls, the cave, the caver theater, the empty vending stalls. this is next to the Legith's Island park, with flowers, a bridge, butterflies, some small paths. And did I mention the empty vender stalls on the lighthouse. (fyi first 2 weeks of rent on those stalls will be free after rebate.. simply rent a stall before 9AM PST on august 19th.. and I will send you back the $$ starting at about 10 or 11AM that day.. stalls use the "rent me" system .. my version of "rent-o-matic") Current Mood: creative | | Thursday, August 12th, 2004 | | 3:45 am |
Othello and Butterflies
Well now I have some venders around the world.. even scripted them to email me info on the sale.. like what was bought.. and from what vender, or cluster of venders. so far (since saturday) I've sold: * 1 simple clock (L$15 each) - via someone buying a copy of the one outside legith's workshop * 3 Othello boards (L$600 each) * 2 Butterflies (L$40 each)(copy, no x-fer, temporary notecard at the vender included info on making a butterfly generator) so L$1895.. not bad and -L$190 thus far on rent in the malls (one I started rent today for 4 weeks, one last weekend has 2.5 weeks to go) and all the uploads for the contents can't be more than L$200.. In particular both the butterflies and Othello board only have 1 texture.. make it 2 for the vender images. | | Friday, August 6th, 2004 | | 4:22 am |
Garden and othello
well I've created a small garden outside of my workshop.. has a nice overlook, and a fountain I made (free for the copying) my othello board had another use tonight.. I won (my opponent yesterday must of had beginners luck.. or I fell asleep too long ether way I lost) still more scripting to do before I can open the classroom. I want to make a small store outside (not in the garden) to sell my stuff.. and perhaps other peoples stuff and I have yet to decide what I'm going to put in the hidden room.. at least first. Ether some type of game, or an anime art collection.. or perhaps a bit of both. | | Friday, July 30th, 2004 | | 3:29 am |
Othello
Well I had a successful late night othello party over at my workshop. seems like some like my wonderful script.. and I have some ideas for improvement. One is setting it up so we don't ask constantly for control.. I think I know how to get around this. The other thing bugging me is the delay between turns.. this delay is during calculations.. I'm not sure how to remove it.. I also should implement a simple AI called bob.. bob picks random valid moves.. not the best thing.. and I have better AIs planed.. but a good start for new players Well time for bed. Wings
So I fond a pair of wings at a store: ( Wings )I've also made the upstairs section of Legith's Workshop into a classroom, (comfortably sits 20, max sitting occupancy is 26) Next task is to program the white board in from to allow rentals of the space, as well as when rented allow people to post images there, and the ability to rate the images (for image contests). Rating will work by allowing people to pick a score 1-4.. adding them up and IMing the person leading the event when they end the pole. I need to make the downstairs into a store/arcade but this partly involves making many more items. Current Mood: productive | | Saturday, July 24th, 2004 | | 1:49 am |
Clock
I got an analog clock to work. Took forever, The basic idea is simple, get the time, calculate what fraction of the way around the clock hand should be, multiply by 2PI and set the rotation. So the problem.. making this all into one movable object.. and to make it more interesting this object can be rotated, and when rotating the hand realize that it needs to rotate at some distance from the center.. Getting all of this to work took a bit.. in particular the rotation, the new offset was easy in comparison. Current Mood: sleepy | | Tuesday, July 20th, 2004 | | 9:45 am |
Land
So I just bought a pice of land, Legith's Workshop, Hiaka (66,45). Feel free to stop by. Here I can put some scripting projects, and probably host any event I feel like. including events with mature content, and sales. I may also rent out these rooms occasionally. Legith's workshop is currently a slightly odd shaped piece of land, high on a mountain. its 256m^2 and has 58 prims. of the 58 I'm using 12 for the building, and one more will be for and info card. The building is a two story 10x10 square, with large windows, star painted ceilings, and tile floors. It looks like I can use 20 prims per floor, with 5 prims extra for special for the outside (of course these are rough guidelines.. if I need 30 prims downstairs and 11 upstairs, and none outside I'm fine. Second Life
Well I was just born in the world of second life the other day. It is a very interesting place.. Many people around, many interestingly designed properties, and quite a number of amusing things all around. I've decided to open this livejournal account on a recommendation from ezterry. He thinks that is might help me keep my thoughts organized, Well lots to do, at the moment I'm playing with scripting, something that allows those of us in second life to control the world around us. Well thats all for now I'm sure I'll have more to say as time goes on though. Current Mood: curious |
